The Neptune City-Saturn Town Review #13: Mickey Rooney

10 Apr

Mickey Rooney was the greatest actor that Hollywood ever had the good fortune to produce (if you are wondering here which actress should be considered as equivalently wonderful, it is more than a coincidence that that coveted designation is easily earned by Rooney’s oft co-star, the super-cute Judy Garland). He recently passed away from this life just a few mere days ago, at the extremely generous age of 93 years (outliving poor Garland by over four decades!), and it is common knowledge that this extraordinary performer had worked extremely hard for the majority of that lifetime (beginning at infancy on the vaudevillian stage–to be exact, and continuing up till the very end).

I think that just with the expansive Andy Hardy series (upon which the Archie comic books are more than inspired) Mickey Rooney guaranteed his place in the most memorable of American cinema, and I would like to encourage readers of this blog to look up some of those great Andy Hardy movies (which also feature Judy herself, in a memorable few) and see for your own self just why Mickey Rooney was, and will always be so great.

Well, that’s all for now, and remember: “Freedom is Ink on the Page.”
